What The Report Covers

Everything the airline asks for

Most airlines request the same details in a repair shop statement. Our report covers each one.

Brand of the pram
Model of the pram
Current retail replacement value
Age of the pram
Description of the damage
Photographs of the damage
Repair quote, where repair is possible
Statement of beyond economical repair, where it is not
On letterhead, signed and stamped
Ready within 48 hours of drop off

Why airlines ask for this document

When an airline damages a pram, pushchair or stroller in the hold, the claim rests on evidence. The airline wants proof of what the pram is, what it is worth, and whether it can be fixed. A written statement from a repair shop answers all three. Without it, claims stall. With it, most claims are straightforward. We see the same checklist again and again: brand, model, value, age, stamp and signature. That is exactly what our report provides.

Bent frames are the most common airline damage

Baggage handling bends pram frames more than it breaks anything else. A bent chassis often cannot be straightened without compromising the structure, and on many models the honest answer is a full chassis replacement. Where that costs more than the pram is worth, the report states the pram is beyond economical repair, which supports a claim for full replacement value. Where the damage is repairable, the report includes a repair quote instead, and airlines typically reimburse the repair cost.

Honest Assessment

Repairable or beyond repair, the report works for you

If the pram is repairable

The report includes a written repair quote for the airline. Labour starts from £50 and genuine parts are charged at cost. If you go ahead with the repair, the work carries a three-month warranty, and airlines typically reimburse the repair cost. See our full pram repair service for what we fix.

If the pram is beyond economical repair

The report says so plainly, with the evidence to support it. That is the document airlines request before paying out replacement value. We do not recommend repairs that do not make financial sense. A pram with a compromised frame should be replaced, not patched.

What we need from you

The pram itself, dropped off with us for one to two days. If you have the original receipt, bring it or send a photo on WhatsApp. It is the cleanest evidence of the age and value of the pram and it strengthens the claim.

Flying again with a replacement pram?

Once the claim is settled and the new pram arrives, protect it before the next trip. Our pram cleaning service includes an optional waterproof fabric protection treatment, and a travel bag is the single best defence against the hold. If the airline damage is limited to wheels or tyres, that is often a quick fix rather than a claim.

Common Questions

Airline pram damage report FAQs

How much does a pram damage report cost?
The assessment is £30. That covers the inspection, photographs and the signed and stamped written report.
What does the report include?
The brand and model of the pram, its current retail replacement value, its age, a description of the damage with photographs, and either a repair quote or a statement that the pram is beyond economical repair. The report is on letterhead, signed and stamped.
Will the airline accept your report?
Airlines typically ask for a written statement from a repair shop confirming the brand, model, value and age of the pram, with a stamp and signature. Our report covers each of those points. Every claim is decided by the airline, so we cannot guarantee the outcome, but we provide exactly what they ask for.
How long does the report take?
The report is ready within 48 hours of drop off. We keep the pram for one to two days so we can inspect it properly.
Can you write a report from photos without seeing the pram?
No. We only issue a report for a pram we have physically inspected. That is what makes the document credible to the airline. If your pram is in London, drop off is simple and the report is ready within 48 hours.
What if the pram turns out to be repairable?
Then the report includes a repair quote instead, which most airlines accept for reimbursement of the repair cost. If you repair with us, the work carries a three-month warranty.
Do you collect the pram?
For the assessment on its own, drop off is at our Kensington location or our Park Royal workshop. If you book a repair or a Full Valet clean alongside it, free collection and delivery applies as normal.
