A full strip-down deep clean for your pram, pushchair or baby car seat, collected from your home in NW3 or NW6 and brought back to your door. Collection and delivery is £10.
Book via WhatsAppHampstead and West Hampstead are busy areas for us. We cover both postcodes in full: in NW3, Hampstead village around Heath Street, Church Row, Well Walk and New End, Belsize Park and Belsize Village, Frognal, South End Green and Swiss Cottage; in NW6, West Hampstead along West End Lane, Fortune Green and the streets off Mill Lane, the mansion blocks of South Hampstead around Canfield Gardens, Fairhazel Gardens and Compayne Gardens, and across to Kilburn.
A lot of the housing here is flats: large Victorian houses divided up, Edwardian terraces, and mansion blocks such as those around Fortune Green and Canfield Gardens. If your pram lives at the top of the stairs or behind a communal door, just tell us when you book.
Every pram goes to our specialist cleaning facility, where it is taken apart and each part is cleaned with baby-safe products, then rebuilt, checked and delivered back to the same address.
Collection and delivery in NW3 and NW6 is a flat £10, added to your clean in one price on WhatsApp.
All of NW3 and NW6: Hampstead, Belsize Park, Frognal, South End Green, Swiss Cottage, West Hampstead, Fortune Green, South Hampstead, Kilburn and Queen’s Park.
We collect from your house or flat in the evening or at the weekend. We tell you the day on WhatsApp, and roughly when it will be back.
Plenty of homes here are upper floor flats. Let us know the floor and how to get into the building when you book.
The Heath is the reason Hampstead prams work so hard. Here is what to know about it and the rest of the area.
The Heath covers 790 acres, with over 25 ponds. It sits on a sandy ridge over London Clay, which holds the rain and makes the low ground boggy, and Parliament Hill rises to 98 metres, so expect some steep pushing. The City of London has surfaced paths suitable for wheelchairs, which suit prams too, and publishes an accessible route that starts and ends at Gospel Oak station.
The Parliament Hill playground is next to the athletics track, with a paddling pool alongside, about ten minutes on foot from Gospel Oak, and there is baby changing in the Parliament Hill Track toilet. Heath clay is the most stubborn mud we clean: it dries like cement in the wheel hubs and brake mechanism.
The easiest part of the Heath with a pram. Most paths are level tarmac, every entrance is step free, and there is a café, a small zoo with donkeys, lemurs and wallabies, a play area for children up to twelve and baby changing in the zoo toilets. It opens at 7.30am and is about 14 minutes on foot from Golders Green station.
Kenwood House is free to visit and sits in 112 acres of parkland at the top of the Heath. Pushchairs are not allowed in the house, but there are slings to borrow, high chairs in the Brew House Café, and baby changing in the Service Wing.
Fortune Green, at the top of Fortune Green Road, is a small green with tree lined paths and a playground. Kilburn Grange Park on Messina Avenue has play areas for under sevens and seven to thirteens, a paddling pool and toilets. Keats House garden, near Hampstead Heath station, is free and has baby changing.
Hampstead tube station has the deepest platforms on the Underground and no step free access, and Belsize Park and Swiss Cottage have none either. West Hampstead is split: the Overground and Thameslink stations have lifts, but the Jubilee line station does not yet. Hampstead Heath, Gospel Oak and Kilburn have lifts, and so does Golders Green.
Light, compact strollers such as the Babyzen YOYO make sense for flats and stairs, with a sturdier pram like the UPPAbaby Vista for the Heath. On prams that walk the Heath, the fabric around the footmuff and basket usually shows it first.
If yours is going back into service for a second baby, our newborn packages clean the pram, carrycot, baby car seat and crib together, and the mould on prams guide explains what to check after storage. Waterproof treatment (+£20) helps the fabrics shed Heath rain and mud.
