Pram cleaning in Nappy Valley and beyond

Battersea has had a pram on every pavement for a long time. The stretch between Clapham Common and Wandsworth Common earned the nickname Nappy Valley for its birth rate, and the streets between the commons, from Bolingbroke Grove and Broomwood Road to Thurleigh Road, Honeywell Road and Northcote Road, are still some of the busiest pram routes in London.

We collect from right across SW11: the Victorian terraces between the commons, the mansion blocks along Prince of Wales Drive, the Shaftesbury Park and Latchmere streets off Lavender Hill, the flats around Clapham Junction and the new buildings at Battersea Power Station. Your pram goes to our specialist cleaning facility on the other side of the river, is stripped down and cleaned piece by piece with baby-safe products, and comes back to the same address.

Message us on WhatsApp with your pram brand and postcode and we reply with one total price, including collection and delivery.

Local Guide

Out and about in Battersea with a pram

Where Battersea prams go, and what comes back on the wheels.

Battersea Park

About 200 acres on the river opposite Chelsea, with pedestrian gates on Albert Bridge Road, Prince of Wales Drive and Queenstown Road. There is a toddler playground and an adventure playground, boats on the lake in the warmer months, and the Peace Pagoda by the river.

Battersea Park Children’s Zoo is inside the park. It has no dedicated buggy parking, so prams stay with you or are left at your own risk, and it has a family room for feeding and changing.

Clapham Common and Wandsworth Common

The two commons bracket Nappy Valley, and most local prams do a lap of one or the other most days. Both are big, open and grassy, which means wet grass on the footmuff for half the year and dust in the wheel bearings for the other half.

Northcote Road

The road sits in a small valley over the Falconbrook, a stream now running in a culvert underneath it, and its food market goes back to the 1860s. Café stops are where most of the crumbs in a harness come from; we unclip and clean the straps and buckles as well as the fabric.

Trains with a pram

Clapham Junction is the easy one: the Brighton Yard entrance on St John’s Hill has lifts to all 17 platforms, while the Grant Road entrance only has a lift to platforms 1 and 2. The Northern line stations at Battersea Power Station and Nine Elms are step free from street to platform.

Battersea Park, Queenstown Road and Wandsworth Road stations have no step free access, so expect stairs with the pram, and the same goes for Clapham Common and Clapham South on the Northern line.

Maternity nearby

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital on Fulham Road, just over the river, and St George’s in Tooting are the two maternity units most Battersea families use.

The prams we see in Battersea

In Battersea we see plenty of Joolz Aer and Babyzen YOYO compact strollers alongside full size prams, often with a Cybex or Maxi-Cosi car seat. Compact strollers that fold for the bus and the Overground take a lot of wear at the hinges, so we check the fold before anything goes back.

You can book the pram and baby car seat together as The Full Valet (£119), which makes the most of the collection. If a wheel or brake has given up, we can fit replacement parts at the same time through our pram repair service.
